Work will resume next week to replace the County Route 518 bridge over the Delaware and Raritan Canal, the state Department of Transportation announced.
Daytime work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, is expected to resume on Monday, June 20, with a one-direction closure and detour.
The bridge will be closed to eastbound traffic moving toward Route 27 during the daytime work, but will re-open after 4 p.m. and on weekends. Westbound traffic traveling toward Route 206 will be maintained on the bridge during the daytime work.
Full closure of the bridge with an around-the-clock detour is expected to begin on or about July 6 and continue until Aug. 5. The NJDOT’s construction schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change.
