A variety of upcoming events will be offered at the Office on Aging, South Brunswick Senior Center (SBSC), in the municipal complex, Route 522. The senior center and its activities are open to South Brunswick resident members ages 55-plus only.
“Movie Days at the Senior Center” will feature “Joy,” July 7; a new-release Bollywood film, July 12; and “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2,” July 26. All films begin at 12:30 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
“Coloring for Adults” is set for 12:15-1:30 p.m. July 15. Participants will listen to soothing music while coloring adult designs.
A lecture titled “Art, Music and Language: How They Come Together in Nature and Life on Earth” is planned for 12:15 p.m. July 20. Guest presenter will be SBSC member Gopala (Paul) Rao, a retired professor of medical physics at The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. The lecture is aimed at finding a deeper human understanding of the universe. Mary Rao will provide background music on the keyboard.
“SUR P-R-I-Z-E Bingo” will begin at 12:30 p.m. July 18. The event is free of charge. All prizes will be a surprise to those who win.
An ice-cream social is planned for 12:30 p.m. July 21. Participants, who will listen and sing along to the sounds of the ’40s and the ’50s, will join youth volunteers for cold sundaes (sugar-free available) with a variety of toppings. Fee is $2. Registration is required by July 13..
