The East Windsor Township Independence Day Celebration will be Saturday, July 2, at Etra Lake Park. The rain date is Sunday, July 3.
Free entertainment begins at 6 p.m. with Jerry Rife’s Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a six-piece band from the Delaware Valley area, best known for its traditional jazz sound. It will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by the Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, a six-piece ensemble from Central Jersey performing Americana and a variety of melodies. The fireworks display will commence immediately following the musical presentations, at approximately 9:30 p.m.
“Our nation’s Independence Day is a great occasion for our residents to join together in celebration and recognition of our blessings of liberty and freedom,” said East Windsor Mayor Janice Mironov. She urged everyone to, “bring your blankets and chairs, and use the barbecue grills for a night of free fun at beautiful Etra Lake Park.” There will also be vendors present for purchase of refreshments.

The free summer program of events at Etra Lake Park will continue at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 17, featuring the “Bronx Wanderers,” a tribute band to Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons and Dion.The performance will feature hit such as “Sherry,” “Big Gils Don’t Cry,” “Run Around Sue” and “The Wanderer,” along with the current sounds of Coldplay, Bruno Mars and many more.
“Eagle Mania,” will perform in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 24. Eagle Mania has been entertaining audiences all over the East Coast with its five-part harmonies and ability to emulate The Eagles note by note. The show consists of all of The Eagles greatest hits.
On Sunday, Aug, 7 at 6 p.m., “Gathering Time” will present a “Great 60s Folk-Rock Festival,” a broad tribute to the popular music of the era, from Peter, Paul & Mary and Bob Dylan to Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and America.
“Family Night in the Park” will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, and will feature a large-screen viewing of the movie “The Good Dinosaur.” The evening will include inflatable rides, games, and vendors. The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 14.
If there is inclement weather for the concerts July 17, July 24 or Aug. 7, they will be moved to the East Windsor Regional School District Hightstown High School auditorium. For information call the East Windsor information hotline at 609-443-4000, ext. 400.
