Editor’s note: This is a letter intended for the members of the Hopewell Valley community.
As the school year comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone in our community for their continued support of our schools. We move forward confidently into the next school year and continue with our plans to improve education and our facilities in the Hopewell Valley Regional School District.
Our work underscores the responsibility we have as educators to provide our students with an excellent education and our community with excellent schools. This is a responsibility that we take quite seriously and I am hopeful that you are seeing the results of our work. In addition to our on-going work to improve teaching and learning across the district, one of the biggest challenges facing the district is our need to maintain some of our aging facilities.
On September 27, 2016, the community will be asked to vote on a referendum to address facility needs across the district that includes roofs, windows, HVAC and a more secure and ADA accessible entrance at CHS.
With the successful passing of a referendum, the majority of these projects are also eligible for up to a 40 percent rebate from the State of New Jersey. Details about the September 27 referendum projects and financing are available from the district website, hvrsd.org referendum.
We have set an ambitious agenda for ourselves to keep improving the educational experience of all students, Kindergarten through twelfth grade in Hopewell Valley. We appreciate the support of the community and we will continue to work hard until every student reaches his or her potential.
Enjoy your summer!
