WEST WINDSOR — West Windsor Township has been named the third best place in New Jersey to raise a family in 2016, according to www.niche.com.
Analyzing public data and reviews, the website listed 100 of the best towns in New Jersey to raise a family.
West Windsor Township placed third, followed by fifth-place Montgomery Township and ninth-place Plainsboro Township.
The information analyzed by Niche included public schools, the cost of living, safety, family amenities or access to parks, libraries and cultural activities, and the level of education of its residents.
The quality of public schools accounted for 20 percent of the grade, followed by the cost of living at 15 percent and crime safety and family amenities at 10 percent apiece. Higher education accounted for 7.5 percent of the total grade.
Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh was pleased with the township’s ranking.
“It was not a surprise to me,” Mayor Hsueh said. “It is an indication that West Windsor is getting more attention, not only at the state level but at the national level — thanks to the volunteers, residents and elected officials.”
