Mary B. Moore, 93 passed away June 28, 2016 at Martin Healthcare Center of Westminster Village in Bloomington, Illinois formerly of New Egypt and Cranbury, NJ

Born April 29, 1923 and raised in Abington, PA, Mary graduated from Abington High School before working for the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company in Philadelphia as an administrative assistance. She married Harold “Dutch” Liedtke of Cranbury, NJ who was in the Navy stationed at Willow Grove Naval Air Station and lived in Bath, Maine prior to moving to Cranbury where she worked as a Clerk, Postmaster, and Postmaster Trainer with the US Postal Service. She served as Postmaster in the Cranbury and Princeton, NJ Post Offices. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury and was active in Brainerd Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star as a local and state officer. She also enjoyed playing Canasta for over 25 years with a close-knit group of Cranbury-Hightstown families (Liedtke, Dey, Hagerty, Smith, Thomas, Griggs, Chermak, Duryea) now survived by their “Canasta Kids.” Following the death of Dutch, Mary married Owen F. Moore of New Egypt, NJ where she lived until 2007 when she moved to Bloomington, IL to live near her daughter, Dr. Jane Liedtke. While living in New Egypt, NJ Mary was active in the Plumstead Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, and volunteered at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills. During their years together, Mary and Owen enjoyed traveling to Europe, South America, Australia, and China. While living in Bloomington, IL she attended St. Luke’s Union Church, Christian Women’s Club, the Red-Hat Ladies, O.E.S., and a Bloomington Women’s Club. She played cards at the Bloomington and Normal Senior Centers.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William and Matilda Jane “Jenny” Saylor Bubeck; her stepfather, J. Arthur Herschel; her stepsisters, Virginia Herschel Dawson and Betty Herschel Sullivan; her husbands, Harold “Dutch” Liedtke and Owen F. Moore; and stepdaughter, Mary Jane Moore Hlubik. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Jane Liedtke, and granddaughter, Emily Liedtke, both of Lincolnville, Maine; her stepdaughter’s family in New Egypt, N.J.; son-in-law, Andy Hlubick Jr.; two grandsons, Andrew (Jenny) Hlubick and Patrick (Christine) Hlubick; and four great-grandchildren, Andrea, Andrew, Patrick and Chris. Also surviving are her two nephews and their families, Harry and Ellen Sullivan of Sonoma, Calif., and Douglas and Cathy Sullivan of Petaluma, Calif.; and two nieces and their families, Joyce and Bill Andrews, San Anselmo, Calif., and Patricia Dawson, San Rafael, Calif. In addition, she is survived by many Liedtke, Bubeck, Herschel and Moore relatives and their families throughout central New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
