On July 7, July 14, and Aug. 11, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Woodbridge Main Library, join licensed instructor Laurie Fechter (http://lauriefechter.zumba.com/) for free Zumba Gold and Gentle Yogalates classes. Come ready to sweat, and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong!
Bring a yoga mat and water bottle; towel optional. Dress comfortably. Class is appropriate for beginners or experienced practitioners. Each free class will run approximately 45 minutes and you can join in for either one or both sessions.
Zumba Gold is perfect for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves at a lower-intensity. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. The Zumba Gold class begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Library’s First Floor Meeting Room.
Gentle Yogalates uses postures from yoga and exercises from Pilates to promote balance, well-being, core strength, good posture and alignment, proper breathing, flexibility and relaxation. The Gentle Yogalates class begins at 7:15 p.m. It will be held in the Library’s First Floor Meeting Room and it is done barefoot in standing, seated and lying positions.
