After playing from behind the entire game, as they have in many past games, the East Windsor Blue Demons did it one more time.
Down 7-2 at one point, the Blue Demons scored 10 runs on stolen bases, two walks, a few hits, and a bases clearing double to deep centerfield to take their third consecutive Central West Division Championship with a 12-8 win over The Assault from Levittown, PA.
Thee larger than normal crowd, including parents, relatives, friends, the 10U Demons players, and coaches from the local organizations were there to cheer on the team.
The fans didn’t have much to cheer at in the first 5 ½ innings. But the bottom of the sixth inning was one that many on hand will not forget for a long time.
Throughout the six seasons since the fall of 2013, every kid that played contributed in many different ways including hitting, playing tremendous defense, strong and accurate pitching, backing up passed balls, and baserunning.
The most important quality that these players showed was that not only do they have good baseball skills, but that they play like a well-oiled machine in every game, the example of how to play as a team.
The team commitment, collaboration, passion and heart that each player showed throughout the season really helped lead to a 12-1 record this spring season.
Eleven members of the current team have been involved since September2013, including all four coaches. The team compiled a winning percentage of.773.
