The Hillsborough Rotary Club will hold its ninth annual fair from Tuesday through Sunday, Aug. 16 to 21, at the township field adjacent to the Lowe’s Hillsborough Promenade at 315 Route 206.
The six-day carnival attracts about 15,000 people each year, and is one of the township’s largest and most popular annual community events. Fair proceeds go directly to support a variety of Hillsborough community organizations and projects.
“We look forward to the annual Rotary Fair all year,” commented Rotary Club President Abed Medawar. “It is our most important fundraiser of the year, and has become a Hillsborough community tradition.”
The fair will feature 21 amusement rides by Majestic Midway Amusements, games by Paladin Amusements, a DJ, a selection of food, displays by area vendors and a petting zoo.
Featured rides include the Himalayan, Bumper Cars, Ring of Fire, Super Shot, Sizzler, Zipper, Carousel and Kite Flyer. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday will be pay-one- price ($30) wristband nights. The fair will also include nightly entertainment and special demonstrations.
A fireworks display by Interstate Fireworks, which debuted at 2014 fair, will light up Hillsborough skies on Friday at about 9:30 p.m. Rain date is Saturday). Kelly Compher@Keller Williams Cornerstone is the major firework’s sponsor.

The Hillsborough club more than 40 active members. Members include business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service, encourage ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
All funds raised at the fair and other events throughout the year are donated back to community projects. The club meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Landing Restaurant at 311 Amwell Road.
