USA Network will premiere its new conspiracy thriller Shooter on Tuesday, July 19 at 10 p.m.. The series stars Ryan Phillipe and is based on the best-selling novel Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter and the subsequent 2007 Paramount film which starred Mark Wahlberg. The story follows the courageous journey of Bob Lee Swagger, a highly-decorated ex-marine sniper who is coaxed back into action after he learns about a plot to kill the President. When Swagger’s former commanding officer Isaac Johnson, played by Omar Epps, solicits his expertise in a clandestine operation, Swagger re-emerges from exile only to discover that he is inextricably involved in a disastrous operation with ties to his past.
History Channel will premiere its 8-part drama SIX on Monday, July 18 at 10 p.m. The series, starring Barry Sloane and a powerful ensemble cast, follows a brotherhood of modern American warriors, Navy SEAL Team Six, whose 2014 mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists.
Starz will premiere the third seasons of Power on Sunday, July 17 at 9 p.m. and Survivor’s Remorse the following Sunday, July 24 at 10 p.m. Power stars Omari Hardwick as James “Ghost” St. Patrick trying to go straight as a legitimate nightclub owner. Look for plenty of drama in the new season. The comedy series Survivor’s Remorse follows Cam Calloway, played by Jessie T. Usher, a basketball star who is thrust into the limelight after signing a big contract with a pro team. In the new season, Cam is challenged with the fallout when Uncle Julius, played by Mike Epps, is involved in a tragic accident.
HBO will premiere its new comedy series Vice Principals on Sunday, July 17 at 10:30 p.m. Danny McBride and Walton Goggins star as two high school administrators who are in an epic power struggle for the top spot.
