Vendor spots open at National Night Out

The South River Police Department and the South River Municipal Alliance will host their eighth annual National Night Out 5-9 p.m. Aug. 2 at 7 Acres Park, Kamm Avenue. All borough residents are encouraged to lock their doors, turn on the outside lights and join the community in standing together to promote awareness, safety and neighborhood unity.

Vendor spots are available for businesses; cost is $25. Free spots are available for nonprofit or community organizations. Food vendors will not be permitted.

The event is free of charge. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. There will be giveaways, games, music, a dunk tank, emergency-equipment displays, vendors, community organizations, a petting zoo and other activities.

The South River Food Bank will accept donations at the event. Guests are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for donation.

Additional parking will be available at American Legion Hall and Belarusian Hall, both Whitehead Avenue; shuttle buses will run between the two locations and the event. Buses also will be available for senior residents of Willett Manor and South River Landing.
