The town next week will resume a stalled public works project on Valley Road that had been stopped because of inaction in Trenton over how to replenish the depleted Transportation Trust Fund.
Valley Road was one of hundreds of projects statewide that Gov. Chris Christie had ordered shut down. A portion of the project involved some $283,509 from the state, but the town decided it will do the parts of the job that are not funded with state money.
Municipal engineer Deanna L. Stockton said Thursday that the project — overall calling for roadway, sanitary sewer and other improvements — would resume on Monday.
