SOUTH RIVER – Roadwork will be taking place on Montgomery Street between Johnson Place and Claremont Avenue through Aug. 19.
The work, consisting of reconstruction of the curbing and sidewalks followed by the milling and resurfacing of the roadway, will take place during the daytime hours on weekdays, weather permitting, according to a statement prepared by the South River Police Department.
The contractor will make an effort to keep at least one side of the road open; however, it may become necessary for the road to be closed at times. Detours may be posted as needed, but area residents will still have access to their homes.
The police ask residents to avoid parking on Montgomery Street, if possible. Parking restrictions may be put into place on certain days as needed.
