JACKSON – The Jackson School District has added evening hours for parents who want to register their children for the 2016-17 school year.
Assistant Superintendent of Schools Nicole Pormilli said, “We realize it is difficult for some parents to be able to come to daytime appointments and we wanted to do what we could to accommodate them. We hope these evening (hours) will help make things a little easier for everyone.”
From 4-8 p.m. Aug. 10 and Aug. 17, administrators will be available at the school district administration building on Don Connor Boulevard to help parents register their children.
Parents will be assisted on a first come, first served basis. A translator will assist Spanish-speaking parents.
“We have several staff members taking registration appointments and we will make every effort to accommodate everyone, but the last weeks of summer are a very busy time,” Pormilli said. “Planning ahead is key.”
She said a registration appointment should be made as soon as possible.
“It is possible that people may not be thinking about school until the late days of summer, but we simply cannot register everyone at the last minute,” Pormilli said. “It would help everyone if parents who know they have children who will be attending our schools and who have their proofs of residency and other registration items ready to call as soon as they can.”
Parents and guardians may make an appointment by calling 732-833-4661. Registration forms are available on the district website or they may be picked up at the administration building.
