The iconic Fromagerie restaurant, 26 Ridge Road, Rumson, has reopened with new owners Paul and Enilda Sansone who recently purchased the property and business.
Paul Sansone, the owner of Sansone Auto Mall, Route 1, Woodbridge, said, “Enilda and I are excited with this opportunity to keep the tradition of Fromagerie alive.”
The restaurant celebrated its grand opening on July 25, according to a press release. The Fromagerie has been completely refurbished and redesigned with a new bar and upstairs dining area which will also feature a full bar and entertainment on weekends.
“We want to restore Fromagerie to its original festive glory and recreate a fine dining experience consistent with this classic restaurant,” Sansone said.
In order to do that, Sansone has brought on industry veterans Steven G. Botta and Angelo Bongiovanni to manage the restaurant. Elizabeth Jacobson, who has worked for celebrity chef Bobby Flay, will be Fromagerie’s general manager, according to the press release.
Fromagerie will feature a continental menu prepared by Botta. House specials will include such items as a succulent bone in swordfish, classic Caesar salad made tableside, escargot, a classic duck with a cherry and grappa sauce and flavorful 35-day dry aged steaks. Desserts will be made by Fromagerie’s own pastry chef. In addition, the wine cellar will feature wines from around the world.
“We are looking forward to our grand opening for the people of Rumson and the surrounding areas to come and experience the all-new Fromagerie for themselves,” Sansone said.
