Free concerts on tap at Middlesex parks

The Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders continues its free summer concert series with performances in four county parks. All events are free of charge and open to the public. Concertgoers are invited to bring their own lawn chair.

The upcoming concert schedule is as follows:

• July 31, 6-7:30 p.m. — “New York State of Mind: The Music of Billy Joel,” Warren Park Mini Theater, Florida Grove Road, Woodbridge;

• July 31, 6:30-8 p.m. — George Krauss Memorial Band, “Wizards, Warriors and Phantoms,” Spring Lake Park, Maple Avenue, South Plainfield;

• Aug. 3, 2-3:30 p.m. — Jersey Polka Stars, Thompson Park Gazebo, Forsgate Drive, Monroe;

• Aug. 3, 6:30-8:30 p.m. — Tim Gillis Band, country music, Raritan Bay Waterfront Park, South Amboy/Sayreville beachfront, O’Leary Boulevard, South Amboy. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the South Amboy Middle/High School auditorium. Shuttle-bus service will be available, courtesy of Middlesex County Area Transit.
