OLD BRIDGE — A 23-year-old Old Bridge man died after his motorcycle collided with the side of a motor vehicle at the intersection of Route 516 and Cottrell Road.

According to Police Capt. Steven Daroci, Vincent M. Rossi was pronounced dead at the scene around 7:39 p.m. on July 19.

After an investigation, police found that Rossi was reportedly driving erratically, passing motor vehicles, not realizing the light at the intersection had turned red. He allegedly ran into the side of the car, which was making a left from Route 516, Daroci said.

The driver of the motor vehicle had complained of neck pain and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, police said.

Old Bridge police, Old Bridge Township First Aid and Rescue Squad and Robert Wood Johnson medics were at the scene until about 12:30 a.m. July 20.
