Hallmark Channel will premiere its newest original primetime series Chesapeake Shores on Sunday, Aug. 14 at 9 p.m. Based on the novels of the same name by bestselling author, Sherryl Woods, the series stars Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives), Meghan Ory (Once Upon a Time), Treat Williams (Everwood, Hair) and Academy Award nominee Diane Ladd (Wild at Heart). This multi-generational family drama follows Abby O’Brien (Ory), a high-powered career woman, divorcee and mother of twin daughters, who makes a trip from New York City to her hometown of Chesapeake Shores. Her visit brings Abby face to face with her past, including her high school sweetheart Trace (Metcalfe), her uncompromising father Mick (Williams) and her esteemed grandmother Nell (Ladd). Abby realizes the toll her career has taken on her ability to be a hands-on mother, and considers a permanent move to Chesapeake Shores.
Travel Channel will premiere its new series Andrew Zimmern’s Driven by Food on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 9 p.m. Three-time James Beard Award-winning TV personality, chef, food writer and culinary explorer Andrew Zimmern believes the best way to explore a city is to get to know the locals, and in this new series, the first local he usually meets is his cab driver. These local drivers play a key role in helping Andrew set the itinerary of regional eats and local activities.
NBC will take five celebrated men from across genres on an epic adventure throughout Asia in its new alternative comedy Better Late than Never, premiering Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 10 p.m. Join Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and Jeff Dye on this Asian journey. The series will travel to Tokyo, Kyoto, Seoul, Hong Kong, Phuket and Chiang Mai, with our five celebs relying on each other for support.
