The Adler Aphasia Center is offering a free Aphasia communication group for stroke and brain injury survivors with aphasia from 10 a.m. to noon on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at Monroe Village, 1 David Brainerd Drive in Monroe Township.
This group provides those who have been diagnosed with aphasia an opportunity to socialize with others who share similar experiences, provide tips to communicate more effectively, and provide time to practice communication skills in a natural environment.
Aphasia is a language disorder caused by stroke or other brain injury. It affects spoken language, reading and writing, but does not affect one’s intellect. Anyone with aphasia may join the group at any time, but must pre-register.
To learn more about this communication group and to pre-register, contact Wendy Greenspan, M.A., CCC-SLP at 973-530-3981 or email [email protected].
The Center offers other Aphasia Communication Groups in Bridgewater, Hammonton, Maywood, Morristown, Scotch Plains and Toms River. For more information, go to www.adleraphasiacenter.org or call 201-368-8585.
