BRIELLE —Several golfers hit the fairways this month to help raise $75,000 for Holiday Express.
On July 18, 150 golfers played at the Manasquan River Golf Club to raise $75,000 for Holiday Express, which was founded by Tim McLoone, a resident of Little Silver.
Established by McLoone in 1993, Holiday Express is a non-profit organization that delivers music, food, gifts, financial support and friendship to those with the greatest need for the gift of human kindness during the holiday season and throughout the year.
The event always seems to take place on the hottest day of the summer, but a little heat and humidity didn’t deter golfers who made the 14th annual outing a great success. The day included breakfast, 18 holes on the private picturesque course, lunch, cocktail hour, and an awards dinner that was made possible by many generous sponsors.
Proceeds from the Golf Classic will improve the quality of life for the 24,000 adults and children being served by Holiday Express at 90 charity events during the 2016 holiday season.
Holiday Express helps individuals with mental and physical challenges, veterans, individuals in addiction programs, those facing financial difficulties, and children with serious illnesses.
