Before school starts, you have to visit the Raritan Valley YMCA at 144 Tices Lane in East Brunswick. The Y will host an After School Care Program Open House in partnership with The Huntington Learning Center on Aug. 17, 6:30-8 p.m. This event includes a “Homework Routines for Success” presentation, activities and games for children, information on year-round enrichment programs, and giveaways for the first 50 attendees who RSVP. Call 732-257-4114 to RSVP. After school program enrollment is ongoing, pending space. Participants must be registered by Aug. 25 to start during the first week of school. Experienced, licensed YMCA professionals implement a curriculum with monthly themes designed for well-rounded learning through academic, cognitive, socio-emotional, and physical development. From infants through middle school years, participants have access to learning rooms, reading room, enrichment/homework room, gymnasium, tennis/basketball court, aerobics studio, multiple outdoor playgrounds, birthday party room, nature education center, and outdoor aquatics facility. Transportation and healthy snacks are provided for children in the after school program. With a tradition of helping children learn, grow and thrive, the YMCA is more than a child care center.
