Temple B’nai Shalom, a traditional reform congregation in East Brunswick, welcomes students who wish to enroll in its Religious School programs for grades K-12 for the 2016-17 school year. Temple membership is not required for grades K-2. The extensive curriculum includes Hebrew, Judaic Studies and Family Education. Students also enjoy field trips and experience Jewish learning through music, art, film and drama. Free tutoring, resource room, and skills evaluation for students are available. Classes for grades K-2 are held on Sunday mornings; classes for grades 3-6 meet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. There are Tuesday evening Confirmation classes available for grades 7-10 with a focus on Judaic studies and timely Jewish topics, in addition to electives including cooking, art and Modern Hebrew, plus an optional dinner program. In the spring, students in grades 11-12 can participate in a Tuesday evening mentoring training course, designed to provide unique opportunities to lead discussions with students in grades 7-9 about various social action and justice issues.
