‘Senior Sensations’ will entertain in Monroe

MONROE – Seniors from Monroe are planning a sensational performance this month.

Under the direction of Bunny Feigenbaum, more than 45 seniors will be tapping the night away on Aug. 19 during the “Senior Sensations” show at Greenbriar at Whittingham.

“I joined the group shortly after it started because I love to dance and it’s great exercise. It keeps both your mind and body active and in shape,” Rosa Lee Hodes of Monroe, a 14-year veteran, said in a statement provided by Feigenbaum. “Bunny is a fabulous teacher and everyone really cares about dancing and each other. The support is tremendous.”

Jenifer Turner, also from Monroe, has been with the troupe for more than two years. She had tap danced for 17 years and “wanted to bring tap back into my life, something I truly enjoyed.”

“I peeked into the room and before I knew it they lent me tap shoes and put me on the floor. They didn’t know me and they were so happy I was there. I am so impressed with Bunny, her talent for choreography, her ability to coordinate everyone and bring out their best,” Turner said in the statement.

The Senior Sensations have performed in many venues in central New Jersey including the Monmouth Regional Dance Competition and also has participated in the New York Tap City Festival at the Duke Theater.

The next performance will be at 7 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Greenbriar at Whittingham, 100 Whittingham Drive, Monroe.
