East Windsor Township Mayor Janice S. Mironov recently recognized student volunteers for her live call-in “Spotlight East Windsor” cable television program with certificates of appreciation for their contributions.
Mayor Mironov presented certificates of appreciation to “Spotlight East Windsor” student volunteers Kordell Easy, Jonathan Jack, Isabelle Jocelyn, Elena Plumser, Charles Silodor, Jared Sokoloff and Sarina Sokoloff, and thanked Bernice Cunningham and Dick Cunningham.
The “Spotlight East Windsor” show, originated by Mayor Mironov and airing for several years, is live every other Wednesday at 7 p.m., with repeat broadcasts on Monday at 8 and 9 p.m. and Thursday at 5 and 7 p.m. on Comcast channel 27 and Verizon channel 38. The Mayor’s “Spotlight East Windsor” program also can be viewed on the East Windsor Township website home page at www.east-windsor.nj.us.
”The program is an important tool to help keep residents informed about events and projects of public interest including special events, roadway projects, new stores and business, grants, and other township news,” said the mayor.
”High school and college student volunteers are involved in helping to produce and air the program receiving hands on experience in various areas of broadcast television. We really enjoy and appreciate having the students involved and believe that it is an informative and educational opportunity for students,” she said.
Students who are interested in broadcasting and would like hands-on training on a live local television program to learn about camera techniques, audio, lighting, video switching, videotape operations and more are encouraged to reach out to the township.
Interested students should contact the Municipal Clerk’s office at 609- 443-4000, ext. 238 and leave their name and contact information, or for technical information, contact Dick Cunningham at 609-443-1199.
