The paintings of Phyllis Kelty, Eileen Kendall, William McCarroll and Sheila Norton will be displayed at the Hickory Corner Library from Sept. 6 through Oct. 26, during regular library hours.
”I enjoy the flow of watercolor and the way it allows your colors to mingle on the art paper, sometimes with surprising results,” said Ms. Norton. She focuses on flowers and landscapes with a perspective developed from living in England, Holland, Arizona and Tennessee.
Since the Ewing Art Group has been meeting for more than 20 years, Ms. Norton was able to re-join upon moving back to New Jersey.
”I enjoy painting because it is my time to express myself. It is meditative and relaxing and even if I don’t like the outcome, it was time well spent in creativity,” said Ms. Kendall.
About 40 pieces will make up the display, allowing each artist to show 10.
The Hickory Corner Branch of the Mercer County Library System is at 138 Hickory Corner Road, East Windsor, N.J., 08520.
