A week of community events that included the formation of the Witherspoon-Jackson Historical and Cultural Society wrapped up with a community block party on Saturday and basketball games on Sunday.
The annual event began on Aug. 6 with a walking tour and community cleanup, continued during the week with events recognizing the contributions of many of Princeton’s black citizens in politics, religion, education, the arts and entertainment, and culture.
Sponsored by Joint Effort-Princeton Community Sports, the weekend included a community issues discussion along with the community block party and music festival and Sunday’s Joint Effort-Pete Young Sr. Memorial Safe Streets basketball games.
