Indiana Jones, that is.
A group of budding archaeologists joined Dr. Ian Burrow of Hunter Research on Saturday at Morven Museum & Garden, once the home of Richard and Annis Boudinot Stockton in the 1700s. The group worked along side members of the Hunter Research team to learn the techniques of archaeology at the active site at Morven, including digging with hand shovels, screening soil for artifacts and doing site documentation and paperwork.
Dr. Burrow, principal archaeologist for Hunter Research and an expert on Morven’s archaeology, led tours of the Morven site and grounds for visitors. Using maps and photographs Dr. Burrow illustrated some of the history of the house, its grounds and the work that has been done over time.
