Registration open for defensive-driving class

The East Brunswick Friends of the Library will sponsor a defensive-driving course 6:30-10 p.m. Sept. 12 and 13 at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.

Upon completion of the course, participants may apply to reduce points on their driving license once every five years and receive an insurance discount once every three years. Licensed motorists with fewer than four points get a mandatory discount on the auto liability, collision and no-fault portions of their insurance premiums for three years beginning with the next renewal.

Led by police driving instructors, the classes are presented by the Defensive Driving Institute of New Jersey. Registration is required. Seating is limited to 30 people. Attendance at both sessions is mandatory. Course fee begins at $55.

Application forms are available online at www.bit.ly/ebpldriving or at the library circulation desk. Checks should be made payable to E.B. Friends of the Library.
