Professor Eugene Lieber will hold a lecture about the 1930s on Sept. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison. Cost is $8 for members and $11 for nonmembers.
Following his highly acclaimed lecture about the 1920s earlier this year, Professor Lieber returns to discuss the 1930s. He will focus on the impact of the Great Depression; how President Herbert Hoover and President Franklin Roosevelt dealt with it. Professor Lieber will discuss the successes and failures of the New Deal, the results, and the short-term and long-term impact of the role of the federal government.
