Sometimes the High Holiday’s are right after Labor Day and sometimes in October, and that is the case this year. Check the packet you should have received by now. Let the synagogue know if you are interested in blowing the Shofar.
Who has been to a tiki bar? How about Tiki Bar Shabbat? Wind down the summer with this special Shabbat on Friday, Sept. 9. Happy Hour and Chinese dinner buffet is at 6 p.m., with services at 7:30 p.m. For adults, $5 a person. Children 12 and under eat free.
Magen David Adom is Israel’s national emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service. The name means “Red Star of David.” Get a first-hand account of the situation on the ground and how the group saves lives on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 9:45 a.m. Complimentary bagel breakfast. RSVP by Monday, Sept. 12.
How do I get involved in the synagogue? A number of committees are looking for help, including fundraising, Israeli affairs and the Werner Lecture Fund. In addition, Beth El is looking for congregants to take care of the 10 Torah scrolls. Taking part is a great way to help Beth El, help yourself by knowing you are doing a good deed and, oh yeah, it’s a way to meet new people and have fun.

The Men’s Club kickoff breakfast is Sunday, Sept. 11, at 9:30 a.m.
Torah and Teas with the Rabbi or Cantor will be held Sept. 12 and Sept. 26, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.
Shabbat Study Group meets every Saturday after Kiddush.
Minyans are held Sunday at 8:45 a.m., Monday and Wednesday at 8 p.m., and Thursday’s at 7:15 a.m. Please come and help. The minyans are there to help you.
