EAST WINDSOR: Township seeks nominations for Business Awards Program

East Windsor Township is seeking nominations for the 2016 Township Business Awards Program. The purpose of the program is to recognize local businesses that make special efforts to improve or contribute to the community.
The three categories of recognition are Business Beautification, Community Service, and Community Enhancement.
The Business Beautification category includes creating an attractive appearance through landscaping, flowers, and other enhancements to structures and site.
The Community Service category includes providing for community contributions and service.
And the Community Enhancement category includes providing any community value added aspect related to the business, like extraordinary job creation, an unusual or special product or opportunity. Green and sustainable practices, for example, green products, energy conservation, reduction of waste and energy consumption are encouraged and will be given more weight.
“This program was created to give well deserved recognition to businesses who have made special efforts to enhance our community,” said Mayor Janice Mironov. “ It also highlights the importance which our community gives to local business owners and operators.”
Nomination forms are available at the Municipal Building, at the Hickory Corner and Twin Rivers branch public libraries, and posted online at www.east-windsor.nj.us. The deadline for nominations is Sept. 16, 2016.
A selection committee will review all nominations and select the winning businesses. The awards to the businesses selected will be made at a township council meeting in the fall.
