JLOCF, incorporated as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation in 2011, was named in honor of Janice Lopez. Janice was diagnosed with stage III C ovarian cancer in December 2005 and was not expected to see the next spring. Despite this grim news she fought bravely for close to four years. She finally succumbed to the disease on Sept. 6, 2009.
The mission of JLOCF is to raise money to support ovarian cancer research, education and patient/family support. To date JLOCF, and its predecessor organization Team JLo, has raised more than $79,000 to fight the deadly disease.
All tickets are $45 and can be purchased at http://jlocf.bpt.me. For more information, visit www.JLOCF.org.
