The Metuchen Arts Council announces the presentation of “Rapture for a Season,” an outdoor dance performance by the New Jersey dance company, DanceSpora, will begin at 3 p.m. Sept. 18 at Tommy’s Pond, located on Lake Avenue, Metuchen. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and refreshments. The rain date is Sept. 25.
“Rapture for a Season” was originally commissioned by the D&R Greenway Land Trust and presented at the Greenway in 2012, with the support of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. The dance was created to be performed in an outdoor setting, and will be accompanied by live music performed by emerging jazz band ReBop, of Plainsboro, led by trumpeter Alonzo Ryan.
This program is made possible by a grant from the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission with assistance through a grant provided by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
