JACKSON – Residents of Jackson and surrounding municipalities are invited to celebrate a day of community spirit and friendship when the 49th annual Jackson Day celebration takes place at John F. Johnson Jr. Memorial Park, Kierych Memorial Drive, Jackson, on Sept. 10 (rain or shine).
Opening ceremonies at 11 a.m. will kick off a day of fun for people of all ages. Jackson Day will include food vendors, craft vendors, flea market vendors, games, activities, free rides and entertainment provided by the Flying Mueller Brothers and the Beach Bumz.
Jackson Day will conclude with a fireworks display at 8:30 p.m., according to a press release.
The event is sponsored by the Jackson Clean Communities Program. There is no admission fee.
According to Mayor Michael Reina, Jackson Day is going tropical this year and the event’s organizers are asking everyone, including vendors, to join in the fun by wearing tropical/Hawaiian wear.
A new addition to Jackson Day will be a Touch-A-Truck exhibition. Children will have an opportunity to sit on fire engines, police vehicles and other types of vehicles, according to the press release.
