WEST WINDSOR — Police are seeking two men who may have attempted to lure young boys in separate instances within the last week, according to the West Windsor Township Police Department.
The first report of possible child luring occurred Sept. 9, between 3:30 and 4 p.m. on the sidewalk of Old Trenton Road near Emily Court, police said. The suspect was described as a man who stands more than 6 feet tall, and who has a broad chest. He was wearing a black leather jacket with zippers on the sleeves and chest.
In the second incident, which occurred Sept. 13 between 7 and 7:30 p.m. on Monterey Drive at Benford Drive, the suspect was described as a white male with a dark complexion. He is tall and thin, and was wearing a black poncho with the hood pulled up, police said.
The intended victims in both cases were young boys, between 10 and 12 years old, police said.
Police are asking the community to be aware of their surroundings and to immediately report anything suspicious. Parents should reinforce their children’s awareness of “stranger danger” and personal safety.
Also, police have been in constant contact with the public schools and they have increased patrols of neighborhoods and schools during dismissal time.
Police are continuing to investigate the incidents in an effort to identify the suspects. The surrounding jurisdictions have been notified.
