The Monmouth County Park System invites residents to enjoy Historic Longstreet Farm’s Harvest Home Festival from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sept. 25 at 44 Longstreet Road, Holmdel. This old-fashioned country fair is reminiscent of the 1890s and features wagon rides, old-fashioned games, live entertainment and more.
The schedule for the event is as follows:
Ongoing Entertainment: “Wahoo” Medicine Show and “Phydeauz” Flea Circus, Jugtown Mountain Band, Music Man Rich Marzec and Banjo Music.
Entertainment: Chorus of the Atlantic from 1-1:45 p.m. and 2:15-3 p.m. and Let’s Talk Baseball with Bradley Shaw at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Craft Demonstrations: Rug Hooking, Penny Rugs, Spinning, Felting, Lace-making, Smocking, Quilting, Weaving, Knitting and Embroidery.
Demonstrations: Beekeeping, Blacksmithing and Woodworking; Cider Making from 12-4 p.m.; Plowing from 1-2 p.m. and 3-4 p.m.; Threshing from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m.; Two-Man Saw from 12-4:30 p.m.; Corn Husking Competition at 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.; Pie-Eating Contest for ages 8 and under at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.; ages 9-14 at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.; Adults at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
