The Hillsborough Township Police Department reported the following incidents from Aug. 6 through Sept. 12.
The charges are no more than an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Manuela Bogantes, 33, of Belle Mead, was taken into police custody on Saturday, Aug. 6 for allegedly shoplifting at the Kohls store on Route 206. Police said Ms. Bogantes concealed merchandise on her person before leaving the store without paying for the items. The total value of the items was approximately $287. She was later processed at police headquarters and released pending a court appearance.
Robert Heron, 34, of Hillsborough, was charged with DWI while traveling along Route 206 on Monday, Aug. 8. According to police, Mr. Heron’s blood alcohol content was above the legal limit during a traffic stop. He was also charged with several motor vehicle offenses, as well as possession of marijuana. Mr. Heron was later processed at police headquarters and released pending a court appearance.
Thomas Woolson, 51, of Hillsborough, was apprehended by police and charged with DWI after he was involved in a four-car crash on Route 206 on Thursday, Aug. 19. Officials said responding officers determined that Mr. Woolson’s blood alcohol content was above the legal limit during their investigation. As a result, he was charged with several motor vehicle offenses.Mr. Woolson was processed at police headquarters and released pending a court appearance.
Benjamin Nelson, 18, of Hillsborough, was taken into police custody and charged with DWI on Sunday, Aug. 21, after police found him passed out in the driver’s seat of his vehicle on Raider Boulevard. Officials said Mr. Nelson’s blood content is pending analysis by the laboratory. He was also charged with careless driving, obstructing traffic and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.Mr. Nelson was processed at police headquarters and released pending a court appearance.
Margaret Jensen, 54, of Hillsborough, was charged with DWI on Thursday, Aug. 25, after an officer pulled her over on Triangle Road. According to officials, Ms. Jensen refused to submit to a breath sample, resulting in the charge. She was also charged with several motor vehicle offenses.She was processed at police headquarters and released pending a court appearance.
Sanket Kulkarni, 21, of Edison, was charged with possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on Route 206 on Sunday, Aug. 29. Police said Mr. Kulkarni was also charged with failure to maintain his vehicle’s lamps and possession of an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.Mr. Kulkarni was processed at police headquarters and released pending a court appearance.
