- George M. Gowing, 28, of Bayonne, was charged with driving while intoxicated and other offenses at 1:03 a.m. July 31 after police responded to a report of a car that struck a utility pole on Route 1 south near Fisher Place. Mr. Gowing’s Chevrolet van was discovered about two miles away from the accident site on Route 1 south at Nassau Park Boulevard. He was also charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.
- Suzan Nassy, 47, of Lawrence Township, was charged with driving while intoxicated after police stopped her car on Route 1 north for having improper tint on the front windows at 8:43 p.m. July 31. She was also charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
- A 52-year-old West Windsor Township woman reported that someone tried to use her American Express card without her permission. She told police that credit card company’s fraud unit alerted her to questionable charges on Aug. 5 at three businesses in Miami, Florida, but she was not in Florida. The charges were flagged as fraud and the card was canceled.
- A 60-year-old Trenton woman reported the theft of her wallet from her purse while she was shopping at Home Depot. The victim left her shopping cart unattended for about 10 minutes while she was getting help at Home Depot, and believes that’s when the wallet was stolen. The credit card was used at the ShopRite grocery store at the Mercer Mall. The incident was reported at 10:30 p.m. Aug.10.
- A 65-year-old California resident reported the theft of her wallet from her purse while she was at the Barnes & Noble bookstore at Princeton MarketFair at 4:39 p.m. Aug. 11. The woman had left her purse hanging off the back of a chair. Some of the credit cards had already been fraudulently used at the Quaker Bridge Mall.
- Someone stole a package from Amazon that had been delivered to a 30-year-old resident of the Princeton Terrace Apartments. The package, which contained $80 worth of personal accessories, had been left by the garage door. The theft occurred on July 29 and was reported at 4:06 p.m. Aug. 16.
- A 36-year-old West Windsor woman reported the theft of her wallet from a shopping cart at Wegmans grocery store on Nassau Park Boulevard. When she discovered that it was missing, she returned to the grocery store, but a Customer Service representative said no wallets had been turned in. The incident occurred on Aug. 15 and was reported at 6:13 p.m. Aug. 16.
- A 60-year-old Trenton woman reported the theft of her purse that she had left in a shopping cart in the parking lot outside the WalMart store on Nassau Park Boulevard. The victim noticed the purse was missing after she drove away from the store. The incident was reported 3:39 p.m. Aug. 19.
