PLUMSTED – People of all ages are invited to attend a community awareness night that will be held from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 6 at New Egypt High School, Evergreen Road, Plumsted.
Guests at the event will learn about the Parents Who Host Lose the Most campaign and the drug epidemic in Ocean County. Presenters from the Plumsted Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office will discuss laws and statistics regarding those issues, according to a flier promoting the event.
The Parents Who Host Lose the Most campaign is a public awareness program educating communities and parents about the health and safety risks of serving alcohol at teen parties, according to the flier.
The event will include student incentives, resource tables, free pizza, gift card raffles and the National Guard with activities.
Community awareness night is presented in collaboration with the New Egypt School District, the Plumsted Police Department, the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, the Municipal Alliance Program, the DART Prevention Coalition, the Institute for Prevention and RWJBarnabas Health.
