Thunder play to a draw
The East Windsor PAL U14 Thunder followed up its opening day home win with a tough road battle with the Monmouth Coast Tiger Sharks and came away with a point in a 0-0 draw in MOSA’s Premier Division.
Mia Huang made some key defensive stops throughout the game and the Thunder battled the large defensive backfield of Monmouth Coast with scoring opportunities created by Kaela Solari, Ana Radigan. Annie Kosa, Emilia Vallejos, Lara Koppel and Isabella Benitez.
Ella Radigan was outstanding in goal again, recording her second shutout in as many games.
Arsenal wins 5-0
The East Windsor PAL Girls U12 Arsenal defeated the Neptune Mystics 5-0 on the road. The Arsenal used its strong passing game to tire out a big and physical Neptune team.
The Arsenal began to break down the Neptune defense toward the end of the first half and the hard work paid off as Elise Price scored her first Arsenal goal on an assist from Marcella Hirschman.
The Arsenal was confident that more goals would come in the second half, and they did. Rachael Charsky put in a direct free kick after Angelina Benitez was taken down just outside the box. Benitez then scored the third Arsenal goal followed by two more from Abby Carter and Charlotte Garcia.
Radha Ghate and Tanya Aughenbaugh combined for the shutout in goal in front of strong defensive play from Anna Zappola, Alayna Giampolo, Allie Szelag, Megan Khazem, and Nishan Pannu.
