POLICE BLOTTER for the week of 9/23/16

The East Windsor Township Police Department initiated the following police reports through Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016. 
Melissa Minaya, 27, of Stafford, VA, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to observe signal, failure to exhibit driver’s license after being stopped at 3:45 a.m. Sept. 10 on Route 130.
While on patrol in the area of Route 130 south and Dutch Neck Road, an officer observed a vehicle travel through a red traffic signal. The vehicle was the pulled over, and while speaking with the driver, the officer observed loose marijuana on her clothing. An investigation revealed the driver was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Minaya was arrested and later released pending court action. 
Officers responded to 203 Windsor Center Drive on a report of a theft of construction equipment. Sometime between 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, and 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, two generators and vibrating plate compactor were stolen. The estimated cost of the stolen equipment is $3,400. 
Michael Tommasino, 51, of Freehold, N.J. was charged with DUI, refusal of submit to breath test, reckless driving, careless driving, speeding and fail to maintain lane after being stopped at 1:01 a.m. Sept. 11 on Route 133 West.
While on patrol in the area of Route 133 west and Route130, an officer observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel. The vehicle was pulled over, and while speaking with the driver, the officer smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage from within the vehicle. Mr. Tommasino was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DUI. He was later released pending court action. 
Troy P. Howell, 23, of Hooverton Place, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped at 10:45 P.M. Sept. 11 on Huntington Drive.
While on patrol in the area of Huntington Drive, an officer observed two individuals walking through a parking lot. As the officer passed the individuals, he smelled the odor of marijuana. The investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Howell was arrested and later released pending court action. 
Joshua A. Orpel, 36, of East Windsor, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped at 10:58 p.m. Sept. 14 on Route 130.
An officer stopped a vehicle for failing to move over while passing an emergency vehicle on the shoulder of the road. While speaking with driver, the officer learned that Mr. Orpel, the passenger in the vehicle, had two contempt of court warrants for his arrest. Mr. Orpel was also found to be in possession of heroin. He was arrested and later released after posting bail for the warrants. 
The Hightstown Police Department initiated the following police reports from Sept. 14 through Sept. 20, 2016. 
Mount’s Garage, located on Monmouth Street, reported a theft to a motor vehicle Sept. 14. The vehicle was described as a black in color, Nissan Maxima. Patrol officers responded and observed that a navigation / DVD unit was missing from the dashboard area inside the vehicle. Shawn M. Fallon, 24, of Cranbury, was arrested Sept. 14 for possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, during the course of a motor vehicle stop on Stockton Street. Mr. Fallon was transported to headquarters, processed, and later released with a pending court date. 
A resident from East Windsor reported Sept. 15 that his bicycle was taken from the driveway of a residence on the 100 Block of Grape Run Road, at 11:31 AM. The bicycle was described as white in color, with a black seat, and black rims. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact the Hightstown Police Department. 
William J. Butterbrodt, 34, of East Windsor, was arrested Sept. 17 in Jackson Township for an active warrant out of Hightstown Municipal Court. Mr. Butterbrodt was transported to the station, booked, processed, and later committed to the Mercer County Adult Correctional Facility in lieu of bail. 
A resident from the 200 Block of Monmouth Street, reported Sept. 18 that her red, trike bicycle with a white basket, was taken from the driveway of her residence at approximately 10:25 p.m. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact the Hightstown Police Department. 
Carlos E. Ordonez-Vasquez, 25, of Hamilton, was arrested Sept. 18 for an active warrant out of Bordentown Twp. Municipal Court, during the course of a motor vehicle stop on Airport Road. Mr. Ordonez-Vasquez was transported to headquarters, booked, processed, and released after he posted bail. 
A silver Nissan was burglarized Sept. 20 in the parking lot of Wright’s Roses, located on Monmouth Street. The vehicle was parked for approximately nine days (9/11/-9/20) in the parking lot of Wright’s Roses.
