Candidate seeks support for Plainsboro seat on school board

Shrenik Dagli, Plainsboro
My name is Shrenik Dagli and I am running for the Plainsboro seat on the West Windsor-Plainsboro school board.
I moved to Plainsboro about three years ago. I chose WWP so my kids could get the best New Jersey has to offer. I am glad I did so.
I want to continue to build upon the good the district has to offer and maximize the potential. In addition, I will actively work to improve communications and dialogue of the board with the community. I will not only quiver from voting no if I have to, however I will first try to convince others of my viewpoint, as a vote against does just that and does not result in unity. I will make it a personal commitment to get people’s opinions when I make decisions on important topics.
It has become important in recent years that local school board get more independence from the state board. Decisions made by state board are pushed for follow through with no recourse. PARCC is one such example. If managed well, more freedom for the local board will mean more decisions in the hands of the local community.
I came to USA for my master’s in engineering from NJIT. My wife is a dentist and runs a dental office in East Brunswick. I have a 7-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl attending Wicoff.
We love biking around town; recently my son and I participated in a 31-mile bike ride in support of ADA, starting at Novo Nordisk campus.
I want to ensure that our kids improvise and learn from our mistakes. I want to give them the right information and right choices to choose from.
Hoping for a great dialogue this election season and looking forward to your vote.
