The Adult Education and Library Committees of Congregation B’nai Israel, 171 Ridge Rd., Rumson, will co-sponsor a lecture at 11:15 a.m. on Oct. 16.
Mark Russ Federman left a successful law career to help run his family’s iconic “appetizing store” Russ & Daughters. The odyssey from pushcart to a sought-after dining destination embodies the successful American immigrant experience, with a few unique twists.
The program begins with a short clip showing the Lower East Side at the turn of the century. Copies of the book “Russ and Daughters: Reflections and Recipes from the House that Herring Built” will be available for purchase, and Mr. Federman will sign them after his talk.
