Hop Brook Farm in Holmdel will transform into an amazing showfield this Saturday, Oct. 1 for the seventh annual Concours d’Elegance – a premier classic motorcar festival and fashion to benefit the mission of 180 Turning Lives Around, a local nonprofit dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence in Monmouth County.
Concours d’Elegance Event Chairman and Founder, Jeff Cruz of Rumson, along with his committee are organizing an event that they believe will be a spectacular day of fine automobiles, food and fashion for the entire family.
Looking for rare automobiles? From hundreds of entrants, the impressive show field will emerg with the finest examples from Packard, Cadillac, Indian and Austin Healey, many from private collections never before exhibited to the general public.
Foodies can purchase a ticket to enjoy a gourmet lunch over a glass of wine in the VIP Hospitality Tent, or visit the ever-popular food truck vendors at the Concours Picnic Grove.
If fashion is your passion, guests can catch a glimpse of the latest fall trends at the ever-popular Concours Fashion Show presented by Sonya Casher, J.Hillburn, Chong Cha and Tiffany & Co. For kids, visit the Concours Pumpkin Patch courtesy of Dearborn Farms. In need of a new car? Be sure to check out the latest 2017 models on display from Lexus, BMW, Buick and Ford. And after you have taken in all the sights, revel in the sounds of nostalgic entertainment of our live Banjo Band and Barbershop Quartet.
All proceeds from the 2016 Monmouth County Concours d’Elegance benefit 180 Turning Lives Around and the event is just in time as October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. Nationwide, every October, social service agencies and nonprofits dedicated to ending violence observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) in order to bring more focus and attention to an issue that affects every community in a staggering way. In fact, according to the statistics, one in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime and 10 million women and men will be assaulted by their partners in this country each year.
Here are some statistics:
- 42 domestic violence murders were recorded in 2014 in New Jersey – every 8.6 days someone is a fatal victim of domestic violence in New Jersey
- Every nine hours and 24 minutes – someone is raped in New Jersey
- There were 950 reported rapes in New Jersey in 2014
General admission tickets for the event Saturday are $10 and other VIP packages are available. All funds raised benefit 180 Turning Lives Around.
