Joseph J. Kowalski, 78

Joseph J. Kowalski of Titusville, NJ Age 78, passed peacefully Monday, September 26, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Danbury, CT, Joe was a resident of Titusville, and lived in Hopewell Township for 45 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Kowalsky and Helen Wendson and sister Jean Barger.
Joe is survived by his wife of 51 years Judyann Plewa Kowalski, his son Jeff Kowalski and wife Michelle and grandchildren Parker and Claire, his daughter Dr. Jill Gora and grandchildren Erin and Joe, and his sister Fran Jones.
Joe graduated Trenton Catholic Boys’ High School, class of 1956, and was a proud member of the Golden Wave Alumni Association. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving his country four years.
Joe received his BA from Rutgers University in 1964, and MBA Cum Laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1972.
Joe held several positions in various divisions of Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, Chicago, and King of Prussia.
In 1984 he founded Capitol Management Consulting and served as president until his retirement in 2009.
He was past president of the Princeton chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants, and a member of the Mercer County Economic Council.
Tennis was his lifelong passion. He played regularly with his friends at Hopewell Valley Swim and Tennis Club. He had a special bond with the morning men’s tennis group, and especially enjoyed the camaraderie of donut day.
Joe loved travelling around the world with his wife, and they especially enjoyed hiking with their children and grandchildren on their annual Kowalski Family Adventure.
Joe and his family are grateful for the caring support of the staff at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center and Hunterdon Hospice. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 am Friday, September 30, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, E. Prospect and Princeton Ave. in Hopewell, NJ. Interment will be held privately.
