JACKSON – Three individuals were arrested following a motor vehicle stop in Jackson on the afternoon of Sept. 26.
Police said that at 12:32 p.m., officers responded to a drug store on Bennetts Mills Road to investigate a report of an individual who was allegedly attempting to sell Xanax pills to customers of the store.
Officers located a vehicle which was believed to have been connected to the drug store incident a short distance away on South Cooks Bridge Road.
When a motor vehicle stop was initiated, two of the five occupants of the vehicle attempted to quickly exit the car, but were ordered back to the vehicle, according to police.
Further investigation led to the recovery of Xanax pills and a substance believed to be marijuana from the vehicle and the arrest of three people.
Shaqueese White, 26, of Jackson, was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Jackson for an unrelated robbery, burglary and criminal mischief charge. Bail on the warrants was set at $150,000 and White was placed in the Ocean County Jail, according to police.
Steven Mcneill, 23, of Jackson, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was processed and released pending a court appearance, according to police.
Daniel Dumanski, 20, of Jackson, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released pending a court appearance, according to police.
Police officers Kevin Chesney, Stephen Cilento, John Pejoski, Alex Crinnian and Sgt. John McBride responded to the incident.
In other incidents reported by police:
• On Sept. 24 at 1:27 p.m., police officers and emergency personnel responded to a remote area in the Clayton sand pit to investigate a report of a motor vehicle crash.
Police said a juvenile male resident of Brick Township sustained serious injuries when he was involved in a crash while operating an off-road vehicle on the private property without the owner’s consent. The juvenile was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation by Police Officer Jeff Henba, who is also attached to the Jackson Police Department Traffic Safety Unit, and by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
• On Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. while on patrol in the Willow Point complex on East Commodore Boulevard, Police Officer Keith French observed suspicious activity which subsequently resulted in a motor vehicle stop of a 2013 Nissan.
Police said as French spoke with the vehicle’s occupants, he observed items in the vehicle that are consistent with narcotics use.
Officers Ted Kucowski and Mike Basso arrived at the scene to assist French and as the investigation continued a search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a substance believed to be heroin, hypodermic syringes, a glass smoking pipe and other items consistent with narcotics use, according to police.
Police said Dean Lombardi, 23, of Jackson, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic syringes, failure to maintain lane and possession of a controlled dangerous substance while operating a motor vehicle. He was released pending a court appearance.
