The municipal affordable housing coordinator in Princeton will retire at the end of December.
Christy Peacock, who has held the job since 1997, said Monday that she had notified the town in September of her plans to leave.
“It’s time to do something else,” said Ms. Peacock, who started with the then-Princeton Township in the tax assessor’s office.
The job includes making sure state and federal housing laws are being followed, among other responsibilities. Her departure comes with still unresolved questions in Princeton and the rest of the state about what towns’ requirements are to provide affordable housing, based on a recent state Supreme Court ruling.
The town, in the requirements section of the job vacancy posting, says the affordable housing manager must be able to “climb stairs and inspect properties.” The salary range is $57,000 to $90,000.
