PRINCETON: Man charged with aggravated assault after hitting victim in the head with a stick

A 50-year-old Princeton man has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon after he struck another man on the head with a stick, according to the Princeton Police Department.
James Strauss struck the 55-year-old victim, who lives on Belle Mead, on the head with a stick that he picked up following an altercation on the tow path on Quaker Road, police said. The incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Oct. 2.
The victim suffered a cut to the head, and was taken to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro for treatment.
Mr. Strauss was released with a pending court date.
