The East Windsor School Board and East Windsor Council Candidates’ Night will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the Media Room (No. 601) at Hightstown High School, 25 Leshin Lane, Hightstown.
The school board forum will run from 7 to 8.15 p.m., and the council forum will be from 8.30 to 9.15 p.m.
Six school board candidates are competing for three open seats of three years’ duration each. The three incumbent candidates are Erica DiRaimondo, Dr. Christine Harrington and Robert Laverty. The challengers are Nicole LaRusso, Roger Power and Ram Ramachandran.
East Windsor council candidates are running for one seat of a one-year unexpired term, with Republican Richard Avallone challenging incumbent Democrat Denise Daniels.
The forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of East Windsor-Hightstown. Members of the public are welcome to submit brief questions to [email protected] and at the forum itself. A LWV moderator from outside East Windsor will be asking the questions. The forum will be recorded by Andrew Koontz and the TV Production class of Hightstown High School.
Both events will be rebroadcast on Verizon Channel 38 and Comcast Channel 27 on Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays from Oct. 22 to Election Day, Nov. 8. The school board forum will be shown at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The council forum will follow at 11.15 a.m., 3.15 p.m. and 8.15p.m.
