Metuchen Farmers Market runs through November

Metuchen Farmers Market, at the Senior Center parking lot, 15 Center St., corner of New and Center streets, Metuchen, will hold Market Day from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays through November.

Come fill up a Metuchen Farmers Market bag, still available for purchase at the Manager’s Table, with fall crops. For more information, visit www.metuchenfarmersmarket.com. Held rain or shine.

Representatives from the Shade Tree Commission will be onsite giving away Willow Oak and Red Oak Seedlings. They will also speak to borough business owners and residents who would like a shade tree planted on their lots.

The Shade Tree Commission was established in 1966 and is comprised of a small, but very dedicated group of volunteers, whose mission is to foster a better environment and quality of life for the community by planting, maintaining and promoting proper care of sustainable, healthy shade trees. Shade trees will beautify property, reduce energy costs, and improve air and water quality. So please pick one up this Saturday and watch it grow into a valued member of the community landscape.

Project Graduation, now in its 17th year in Metuchen, provides graduating seniors an opportunity to celebrate with their peers in a fun, safe, supervised, substance and alcohol-free atmosphere. This event takes a great deal of fundraising and community support, and you don’t have to be a parent of a graduating senior to be a part of it.
